Comin’ Through is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from his first-up fifth in the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) a fortnight ago and has been confirmed in the 2017 Hobartville Stakes field.

A brother to multiple Group 1 champion Criterion, Comin’ Through stamped himself as a colt to follow when he debuted to racing for a smart win in the Ranvet’s Salkavite Maiden (1400m) on September 14th.

Running well for second in the Royal Randwick Fashions BM70 (1400m) on October 8th, the son of Fastnet Rock made a successful transition to black type company when he stormed home to win the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) on Derby Day.

Regular hoop Michael Walker retains the ride on Comin’ Through, who will jump from the ideal barrier 4 in the Hobartville Stakes and will relish a step up to 1400m.

Man From Uncle returned to the races for a smart win in the Eskimo Prince Stakes and has also been confirmed in the Hobartville Stakes field.

Man From Uncle quickly found form upon debuting to racing last spring and was returned to the paddock after running on for third in the Listed Hilton Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on November 5th.

Having trialled only fairly in the lead-up to his first-up run, the Uncle Mo gelding may require some luck in running on Saturday from a wide draw, but undoubtedly has the acceleration to be right in the finish of the Hobartville Stakes.

Victoria Derby champion Prized Icon is yet to be seen at the races in 2017, but has been confirmed to make his first appearance at Rosehill on Saturday after making the Hobartville Stakes field.

Capping an impressive autumn campaign with a maiden win at the highest level in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) in 2016, Prized Icon resumed in the spring for a credible fourth in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m).

Failing to beat a single runner home amongst open company in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m), the More Than Ready colt responded well for third in the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) on September 24th.

Hitting the line well for third behind Yankee Rose in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m), Prized Icon ran well for fifth in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) and undoubtedly produced his best effort to date when a dominant three length winner of the Victoria Derby (2500m).

The three-year-old might find his company slightly too sharp in the Hobartville Stakes field first-up, but his class is sure to count for plenty in the race.

The Chris Waller-trained Valadero will leave from the rails draw, while On The Spot has drawn into the Hobartville Stakes field in the outside barrier 9.
